Who we are
Hook Strategy (“The Hook”, “we”, “us”) is a creative and marketing agency operating in Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This website is thehookstrategy.com. We are the data controller for the personal information described below. You can reach us at hello@thehookstrategy.com.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us, plus the basic technical data any website receives.
- Information you submit through our project brief form: your name, work email address, company or brand name, the services you are interested in, an indicative budget range, your timeline, and whatever you write in the project description.
- Information you send us by email when you contact hello@thehookstrategy.com directly.
- Technical data automatically recorded by our hosting provider in standard server logs: IP address, browser type and version, the pages requested, and the date and time of the request.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, government identification numbers, payment card details, or any sensitive personal information through this website.
When you submit the project brief form, the details are emailed to us and also saved in this website’s own database, so that an enquiry is never lost if the email fails to send. Both copies are covered by the retention periods set out below. We do not record your IP address with the submission.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, prepare a proposal, and discuss a possible engagement. This is the reason we collect the form data, and it is the only reason.
- To keep the website secure and working — server logs are used to diagnose faults and identify abuse such as automated login attempts.
- To meet our record-keeping obligations where a project goes ahead and becomes a client relationship.
We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you submitted a brief.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find the site and move through it. It records the pages you view, your approximate location at country or city level, your device and browser type, and whether you submitted the project brief form or clicked one of our contact links. We do not use it for advertising and we have not connected it to any advertising product.
Google sets cookies to do this and processes the data under its own privacy policy. Alongside those, the only cookies set are the functional ones WordPress uses to keep the site working, and a session cookie set by our hosting provider. We do not run advertising trackers.
You can prevent this measurement through your browser settings or with Google’s own opt-out browser add-on.
Who else sees it
Your information is handled by the people at Hook Strategy who need it to answer you. Beyond that, it passes through a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf:
- Our website host, which stores the site and its server logs.
- Our email provider, which delivers and stores messages sent to and from us.
These providers may store data outside Bahrain. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the data remains protected to a comparable standard. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a project are kept for up to 24 months, so we can recognise you if you come back to us, and are then deleted. Records relating to actual client engagements are kept for as long as the relationship lasts and for the period afterwards required by law and by our professional obligations. Server logs are retained for a short period by our host and rotated automatically.
Your rights
Under Bahrain’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 30 of 2018), and equivalent laws that may apply to you, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong or incomplete;
- delete it, where we have no continuing lawful reason to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- stop sending you any communications you did not ask for.
Write to hello@thehookstrategy.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Authority in Bahrain.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, administrative access is restricted and rate-limited, and access to enquiry data is limited to the team members who need it. No website can promise perfect security, but we take the protection of what you send us seriously and review our arrangements regularly.
Children
This website is aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and the “last updated” date at the top will always tell you when it last happened. Material changes will be signposted on the page.
