what we delivered.

the problem

Facility maintenance is sold on trust, but most brands in the category look interchangeable. Fix It needed to look like the obvious call — for homeowners and facility managers alike.

Maintenance is bought in a hurry and usually under mild stress — something is broken, someone needs it fixed today, and the decision is made from whatever name is nearest to hand. The category is crowded with businesses that look improvised: a phone number on a van, a logo that changes between the invoice and the uniform. That inconsistency reads, fairly or not, as how the work will be done.

strategy

Make Fix It look as reliable as it is. A confident identity carried consistently from the service page to the van, so every touchpoint earns the next call.

The strongest available position was simply to look organised. In a trust-led, low-differentiation category, visible consistency is itself the proof — if a company is meticulous about its own presentation, the inference is that it will be meticulous in your building. So the system was designed to be applied by field teams, not by designers.

execution

Brand identity system, service pages and printed collateral, a monthly social content system, and on-site branding (uniforms, vans, job-site signage) for visible presence.

The identity was built with the physical world as the primary application: uniforms, vans and job-site signage where legibility at distance and durability matter more than nuance. Service pages and printed collateral give both audiences — homeowners and facility managers — the specific reassurance each needs, and the monthly social system keeps Fix It in mind before the emergency, which is the only moment recall is worth anything.

creative process

We designed backwards from the van. A maintenance brand is seen most often in motion, at distance, in bad light, so colour contrast, mark simplicity and type weight were resolved for those conditions first and refined for screen afterwards. Every application was specified tightly enough that a technician can order a replacement uniform or sign without a decision being made on the spot.

result

A maintenance brand that reads as professional from the first impression and gets remembered when something breaks. Monthly jobs went from 15 to 60.

lessons

For a trades business, consistency is the whole argument. Customers cannot inspect the quality of the work before they buy, so they read the quality of the presentation — and a matching van, uniform and invoice say more than any claim of reliability.
